Chengdu, China – April 11, 2023

A five-day lubricant testing intensive ended today for 21 technicians from a leading Chengdu lubricant manufacturer. Under the continuous supervision of China Quality Inspection Association (CQIA) authorized inspectors, the class completed 40 hours of theory and hands-on work, passed closed-book exams and practical assessments, and received the CQIA “Lubricant Laboratory Analyst Competency Certificate.”

The 2023 curriculum was rebuilt from the ground up. Organizers merged fresh CQIA guidelines with field feedback from three previous classes,Modules covered instrument safety, lab management, base-oil chemistry, QC protocol interpretation, and real-world case studies on how to secure repeatable data.

Classroom sessions opened with a deep dive into ASTM and GB/T methods, followed by live demonstrations of glassware tolerances, analytical-balance drift tests, acid–base titration end-point detection, and gravimetric moisture traps. Instructors also introduced a “clean-label” lab-management concept: color-coded reagents, barcode tracking, and digital logbooks that auto-flag out-of-spec Lubricant testing results.

The practical block was run on AWD Technologies’ dedicated training line. Each candidate spent 45 minutes per station, calibrating, running controls, and printing raw data under the eyes of a master technician. Equipment used:

AWD-03 Kinematic Viscosity Tester ASTM D445

AWD-01A Flash Point Tester (Open Cup Method) ASTM D92

AWD-12 Pour Point Tester ASTM D97

AWD-23A Rust-preventing Characteristics Tester ASTM D665

AWD-24 Foaming Tester for Lubricant Oil ASTM D892

AWD-25 Water Separability Tester for Petroleum Oils and Synthetic Fluids ASTM D1401

AWD-28-2 Oxidation Stability Tester (Rotary Oxygen Bomb Method) ASTM D2272

AWD-31B Lubricating Oil Evaporation Loss Tester (Noack B method) ASTM D5800

AWD-34 Air Release Properties Tester for Petroleum Oils ASTM D3427

AWD-311 Apparent Viscosity Tester ASTM D5481

AWD-315 Shear Stability of Polymer Containing Fluids Diesel Injector Apparatus ASTM D6278

Ti-50 Automatic Potential Titrator

The plant’s QC manager added that the new certificate holders will seed an internal audit team, standardizing Lubricant testing across the company’s three blending plants and 26 provincial labs, covering more than 1.2 million kiloliters of annual capacity.

Course director Mr. Zhou closed the ceremony by reminding graduates that the certificate is valid for three years and must be renewed with 20 hours of documented Lubricant testing CPD. All 21 candidates pledged to upload their next 100 test runs to CQIA’s cloud platform for remote proficiency monitoring.

With the 2023 spring class complete, the organizer announced autumn sessions in Dalian and Guangzhou, expanding capacity to 60 seats to meet surging demand for certified Lubricant testing talent across China’s new-energy vehicle and wind-turbine maintenance sectors.
